Made me grin ^_^
Spoiler for Episode01:
Okay... this show doesn't have the budget of Shana or Railgun ... and so, the animation quality ranges from pitiful-hilarious (Natsuru on top of Akane after saving her for the first time) to quite decent (most of the action-motion parts, which were decently animated). It does feel like a bit of a loss after seeing the excellent art from the manga, but I think I'll be able to live with this. Especially since it's not rainbowed and dotcrawled to hell and proper 16:9, where everybody expected another Clannad-like video source debacle.
The voices WILL take some time to get used to, but I think I will. For example I loved the library scene where an "Akane-chan" triggered Akane's transformation, and her Kämpfer voice is pretty much spot-on for my taste. Shizuku is also a hit - even though she only hints at her "cat plays with mouse" tease voice in one half-sentence, it was good enough to convince me. Sakura will do. The biggest problem remains Natsuru, where his male voice is problematic, while the female voice is a bit squeeky. But let's wait.
Contentwise, they stayed around 70% true to the original source and had a couple of minor adjustments, most of them for the better. We're 3 chapters in and doing quite alright. Once the sketchy exposition parts are done, I believe we'll be in for alot of enjoyable "guilty pleasure" kind of fun. Episode 2 should be quite fun already.
So, overall, I'm not cheering and bouncing, but you can see me quite content! Good start.
