Honestly, I think that'd be fine--I've actually thought of doing that myself.
It'd be just paying for translations/paying for a service which would be perfectly fine (assuming forum rules allowed)
It'd make it similar to a job which is all nice and dandy, so that they wouldn't feel as if time were wasted/they could have been making money using the same time
What's wrong is people just pestering the translators; you have a right to offer them an incentive but you can't just very well go shoving it down their throats.
Now back on topic--so volume 7 didn't capture anything new/it was purely a trip down memory lane? Or did something in the current happen?
