But that's normal for Kanazawa, actually most of the north coast... it is not though for Tokyo! Even today with the sun shining since dawn, there are 5+ cm of snow left... yesterday it was snowing so heavily that I could not eve see the Shinjuku skyscrapers... weather like this I haven't experienced since I moved away from Munich
