Very strange indeed. It started suddenly, and I couldn't access the forum site at all for over an hour. Possibly it was inaccessible for longer even, as I only came back about two hours after I stopped checking.
If there are no problems with the AS server, perhaps one of the intermediaries kicked the bucket for a while... don't know what else it could have been. Other sites still worked fine during all the time.
