Don't forget that for Dojima it is way harder to deal with the loss than his daughter. Working is the easiest way to avoid dealing with the situation, while spending time with Nanako the hardest, since he has to deal with very painful emotions... not that he shouldn't do it eventually (as he did this episode, albeit somewhat superficially presented for cheap drama), just saying give him a break
