The problem is Ichika becomes jaded to the point where he acts flat. Unless you know his complications, he'll come off as a boring character. It'd be one hell of a challenge to write the Ichika that resides in my head. His conflicts are all things he hides. So there's very little that can hold the audeince's interest.
