Well, the thing with Epyon is it was IMPLIED to have been detonated, but Zechs still survived, right? If I recall correctly, either the manga or novelization of the series showed Epyon at the bottom of the ocean to imply that Zechs escaped alive, as we saw he did once EW came out.
That's the problem when they don't show you exactly what happens to an MS. In that same vein, I wonder if they'll say something like the detonated pieces of the Gundams were salvaged by someone and used to make new designs... Wouldn't be the first time.
(I've always wanted to see an Epyon Ka, personally ^^; Loved that suit. But I doubt it'll ever happen.)
