The question here is do we really NEED more EVA? Certainly fans that really liked EVA would be very happy about this, but will the new EVA really make it better than before? It is possible to have too much of a good thing... look what happened to Star Wars.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Why would fans of EVA be excited about a remake of EVA, if EVA was already good in the first place? On the other hand, people who didn't like the original EVA probably wouldn't go watch these new movies. There just seems to be no good reason to make more EVA, aside from gouging more money from the fans.
