Also, I'll be putting up a summary of Web 4- the Flashback Arc soon. Here is a portion.
Spoiler for Web 4 Chapter 9- The Aftermath:
Web 4 Chapter 9. This whole chapter is in the present timeline.
After waiting for the door to open, a 70 year old servant came out and greeted them. Unlike the servant earlier, this person has considerably greater prestige.
This meeting is apparently about the aftermath of the Yokohoma Wars. The outside world thought that the event last week was potentially a nuclear bomb or a weapon that “polluted the environment”. Originally, the other countries wanted to punish Japan. If other countries feel that they need to weaken Japan, they can use that as an excuse to collectively send their top magicians in the country. Luckily, the international magic council cleared any misunderstandings. In the end, there was nothing “polluted”, so it was determined that one such weapon wasn’t dropped.
The Head then switches topic, “Now , do you know that the ‘Heavenly General’ Liu Yun De was also caught in the explosion?” This time, Kazame is truly stunned. “Yes, he’s one of the thirteen registered war-level magicians- that Liu Yun De. The Chinese are currently keeping a tight control on the information.” After announcing the news, the head laughed out that a public war-level magician has no secrets. She explains that the only war-level magician who has been successful in hiding her movement from the public is certain war-level magician from the USNA. She continues that other than an ID number and name, they don’t even know how she looks like.
She continues, “Japan is currently trying to leverage the recent events to force the Chinese back. The higher ups have officially filed a request for mobilization from the Itsuwo family (Five). That request has been granted and Mio will be part of the fleet.”
Miyuki asks, “That person will be on the ship?” The head confirms, “Correct.”
Itsuwo Mio, the only publicly registered war-level magician from Japan and one of the thirteen “Apostles”. She is the only other person aside from Tatsuya who is a war-level magician in Japan. Moreover, she is considered the ace of Japan. Her magic- Deep Abyss- is particularly strong over water. It’s a power that can destroy entire fleets in one strike and is as such recognized as a war-level magic. It’s also a magic that can be used on underground water, which would cause the buildings above to collapse.
“But isn’t her body weak…?” Contrary to her magic powers, Mio’s physical body is frail. Even before her time as a powerhouse, she had always been on a wheelchair in order to conserve her energy. After she graduated from college, she has never been outside of the main house. It’s due to the influence of Mio that the Itsuwo family has a strong position within the ten numbered family.
Along with Mio, the Russian Apostle- “The Igniter” is also showing movement. Like before, Kazame is visibly disturbed by the news. He never thought that the recent events would mobilize four different war level Magicians including Tatsuya.
The head continues, “Finally, the shackles with the event three years ago is finally coming to an end.”
“Unfortunately, the recent events have caught the attention of other countries. Because the recent events are eerily similar to the annihilation of the Chinese Fleet three years ago, other countries will covertly send in magicians to inspect the situation. If Tatsuya is caught in the spotlight, it wouldn’t be beneficial to the Yotsuba clan.”
Kazame nods his head, “I understand.”
“If that’s so, then this is easier. Please refrain from meeting with Tatsuya for a period of time.”
After Miyuki and Kazame left, only two remain- Tatsuya and the Head.
After sipping some tea, she though, “We haven’t talked like this in three years.”
“Aunt, this is the first time you’ve talked to me like this” “Is that so?”
“Now that you mention it, it’s the first time that we’ve talked one on one.” “Yes”
While the Head wanted to drink a bit more tea before diving in the main topic, Tatsuya wanted her to cut the crap and get straight to the bottom line. She mentions that he was extremely “lively” this time around. Tatsuya refutes the claim. Then she mentioned, “Well, you were following orders.” Tatsuya then respectfully thanks her for understanding.
The Head then started, “Compared to the past, the problem is the future.” She warns him, “The USNA has already started to show movement.” They already know that the explosion was caused by magic. They’ve even narrowed it down to Miyuki and Tatsuya as the greatest suspect. Tatsuya praises, “What impressive intelligence.” The Head states, “Well, they are considered the strongest magician corps in the world.” “No, I’m talking about aunt’s subordinate.” After a moment of silence, Tatsuya continues, “Yes, I agree that they have the world’s strongest magician corps, but to be able to have such a grasp on their situation, you sent a spy over didn’t you? “Unfortunately, I’m unable to answer that.” “Of course.”
“In short, be aware of your surroundings. Their magician corps are of a far higher caliber than the enemies you’ve been facing recently. If they feel that you’re a threat to the USNA’s hegemony, they’ll forcefully eliminate you.”
Tatsuya also understands the other meaning within this conversation, “So if there’s any possibility that they’ll touch upon the Yotsuba, you want me to hire a third party assassin to take them out? Alright, I understand.” “Well, if you can read this deeply, everything is easier.” “Didn’t you dismiss Miyuki precisely because you didn’t want Miyuki to hear this topic?”
Suddenly, she switched topics, “Tatsuya, don’t attend school anymore.”
“Why?”
“Take a rest. I’ll send another guardian over.”
“I believe a principal has the right to choose who his guardian is.”
“There is an exception to everything.”
“Yes, oh well, I decline.”
The tension in the room was rapidly rising.
“IF I suddenly leave, isn’t that the same as saying that I’m responsible for the recent events?”
“Well, we can make an excuse.”
“Is that so?”
She then raised her head and saw Tatsuya. Her expression instantly changed.
“TATSUYA, are you disobeying me?!”
“The only person who can order me is Miyuki.”
The tension was boiling over and it seemed that even time was frozen in this atmosphere.
Suddenly, the whole world turned into “Night”.
Within this darkness, there was one star shining brightly. Even the floor which was supposed to be reflecting the moonlight is completely filled with darkness. The star then became the path for all light.
---There was the smell of blood.
In the next moment, it was complete silence again.
Then suddenly, the “Night” was demolished.
*Note, the previous section is a bit hard to understand.
The aunt and nephew are sitting in their original position. Any tension that remained left with the destruction of the “Night”.
“So you went easy on me.”
“Isn’t that obvious, you’re my cute little nephew.”
Neither the aunt nor the nephew was injured and there wasn’t any hint of blood spilt.
“Ma, you were even able to destroy that magic. As a reward, I’ll permit your stubbornness.” “Thank you very much.” “Don’t thank me; it’s a reward for destroying my magic.” Tatsuya left without saying another word.
As the head entered deep thought, her elder servant came in and wanted to say something. The head granted permission. He wondered if it was fine to let Tatsuya go like that.
The Head knew what was on her servant’s mind, “Yes, Tatsuya will inevitably betray the Yotsuba clan.” “That that is correct…” “What’s more, it was like it was verified a moment ago. His magic can specifically counter my magic. If we fought for real, there is a very high possibility that I would lose. It’s even more likely that I would be killed by that kid. Luckily, even if Tatsuya will betray the Yotsuba clan, he won’t betray Miyuki and Miyuki won’t betray the Yotsuba clan.” “But…, this…” “Ah, well, even if this is unfair to the other candidates, Miyuki is already decided as the next head. This is so that we don’t have to face off against that monster-Tatsuya.” “For this to happen, Miyuk must be next head.” “Don’t worry, I already have a plan.”

From what the aunt says it seems like Miyuki places more importance on the Yotsuba clan rather than Tatsuya. How did their mother die?
