Their was that one recently about ocean life present by Richard Attenbourgh that was quite interesting I though, might be a little dry though. >.>

Actually there was this one, about the bible, I think can't quite remember, but it was awesome. Went through all these biblical battles and catastrophes and stuff and theorised a modern day explanations of what happened Like Sodom and Gomorrah, possibly being a meteor strike (or a volcano I forget which) and this other town that was 'consumed by the desert' but actually fell into a sink hole because they drank the water table dry (they found the possible ruins, a whole city down this sink hole and not completely trashed either). Was quite an interesting series.

There are quite a few "series doco's" on Discovery that are pretty fun to watch. There is an awesome one that the name escapes me of atm. I guess if you had Sci-Fi you could watch the conspiracy theory nut ones.
