I think Granny orders the attack to force Tamaki to manifest her powers before the sealing ceremony. Perhaps the reason why the seal is weakening is because Granny has a health problem? She doesn't have long to live, so she needs to pass on the heavy responsibility to Tamaki, and to do that, Tamaki needs to be prepared.
