If the carrier follows modern aircraft carriers like the Nimitz class and its successor it will have a compartmentalized layout to make it resistant to sinking. You have a mission kill when a ship gets so damaged it can no longer carry out its mission and is rendered harmless . All Setsuna would have to do is damage its engines because other than its anti submarine mortars it appeared to have no other weapons other than its mobile weapons. Most carriers can take a massive amount of damage like the sister ship of the battleship Yamato even though she was a battleship she still had the same kind of compartmentalization as a carrier took like 18 torpedoes and dozens of bombs before it sank.
