Anyway, who was the one who intiated the contract? Rosette or Chrno? And does the transformed Chrno remember that he has another form? Does the 'transformed he' remember the memories of the smaller Chrno?

Almost all spoilers, mostly for the beginning of volume 2 of the manga.

There's no difference between Chrno and Chrno Truth - they are the exact same person, and simply look different. Part of the nature of demons in Crusade is that they are partial shapeshifters to a degree due to their physical makeup. The main difference is that Chrno has a... small problem with his temper. He's got a long fuse, but once he goes off, the results are rather impressive. So any appearance of his not being quite rational are probably due to the fact that he's gone berserk for one reason or another (which we've only seen happen twice in the manga, once as a flashback where Chrno earned himself the moniker of Togabito Chrno, the Hundred Demon Slayer).

And its Rosette who forms the contract with Chrno, although he tells her about it as a sort of 'last resort' sort of deal after Ion mocks him about running out of power a bit, since he's without his horns and rapidly running out of Astro due to being in his true form. Since the situation at that point was quite dire, Chrno agreed to the contract so they might be able to make a difference, and because he believed that it was at least partially his fault that everything was happening.

As for how long the series will run... if they cut some stuff, and actually stick to about two chapters an episode, they should be able to make it to the end of the series in good time. Although they will probably have to abbreviate some things... its interesting to look forward to seeing how they will handle this.
