He looks mostly like Oreki at the beginning and in Dark Flame Master mode. But once they adjusted his hair and he headed off to school, he looked a lot less like him.
Though I think our MC's sister (the middle school aged one) looks pretty close to Chitanda, though the hair is different. (Hair being one of the biggest aspects to character design, so it's not that close)
