I have also been thinking for a while that maybe the epitaph does not only contains the answer for the Ushiromiyas'gold......What if the Epitaph is also related to the games......

For example in the first part of the epitaph and the first twilight it describes in some way Umineko's Plot:

My beloved hometown, the sweetfish river running through it.
You who seek the Golden Land, follow its path downstream and seek the key.(This part talks about Umineko's plot and what to expect in this series The golden land can interpreted as the truth)

If you follow the river downstream, you will find a village.
In the village, look for the shore (This talks about Rokkenjima)


the two will tell you of.(This talks about the Yasu and Battler's History)
There sleeps the key to the Golden Land.(this part mention that they are one of the main ways to obtain the truth)

He who lays hand upon the key shall travel under the rules below.(Probably this talk about the repetitive murders that happens in the 7 gameboards.)

At the first twilight, you shall lift up as sacrifice the six chosen by the key.
(The murders of the Ushiromiyas in ep1 and Ange's Age at the time of the murders)

At the second twilight, the surviving shall tear apart the two who are close.
(The first part implies that a character survived but by that time we dont know who.
the tear apart talks about Ep2 and Beato's strategy (making the Ushiromiyas fighting each other and the Love scenes)so that Battler loses the game)


At the third twilight, the surviving shall praise my honorable name on high.
(Obviously Banquet Events and the fact that we learn the name of the one that survived)

At the fourth twilight, gouge the head and kill.
(Events of Alliance and the fact that it is revealed that Kinzo the "Head" is dead the kill part refers to the attempt of "Killing beatrice" or Finding the truth)

At the fifth twilight, gouge the chest and kill.

(Events of End and Natsuhi's Pride being shattered ) Another attempt at finding the truth

At the sixth twilight, gouge the stomach and kill.
(This is the Sixth Game and Ryukishi's trying to tell us
the course that Umineko is going to take , so that our"Stomachs"may contain them
) another attempt at finding the truth

At the seventh twilight, gouge the knee and kill.
(Seventh Game and Bernkastel 's revenge and trying to make Ange and Battler surrender and to put them "down on their Knees" )

At the eighth twilight, gouge the leg and kill.
(Eight Game......In this one Trollkishi is trying to tell us that he already gave the answer and that all the hints were given so that the reader give up searching in this game and to put the reader "down on their knees" by using the legs...)

At the ninth twilight, the Witch shall be revived and none shall be left alive.
(This is for those that didnt reached the truth I suppose.)

At the tenth twilight, the journey shall end and you should reach the village of gold.
(This is for those that Reached the truth)


The Witch will praise the wise, and should bestow four treasures.
One shall be, all the gold from the Golden Land.
One shall be, the resurrection of the souls of all the dead.
One shall be, even the resurrection of the lost love.
One shall be, to put the Witch to sleep for all time.

This is just especulation
and some of them I consider them Stupid

The sixth.......I consider it funny.....but in some twisted way it makes sense...
the eight twilight might not make sense since there was no official game...I think...

what do you think?

i don't know,ep7 is already explain the epitapt and what is it for.if i remember correctly,i think who ever solve the epitapt will become the new head of ushiromiya
anyways good speculation though.
