Hmm... I see...
I guess it seems that a lot of people simply can't read past Haru's figure because 1) they aren't fat in real life; 2) they have never been bullied in real life; and 3) even if they are both, they haven't seen people who look exactly like Haru in real life.
I think one of humanity's greatest flaws is its failure to look at each other beyond their outside appearance. A lot of people are stuck judging people based on outside appearance, because that's the only thing that can be seen directly by the naked eye.
I can see people RAGING when they see a gorgeous girl like KYH falls for a fat guy like Haru, but what they don't know is that KYH possesses one ability they don't have: the ability to look at a person beyond his outside appearance, the power to see through a person's heart and soul, the power to determine a person's true character regardless of outside appearance.
Because really, it's easier to believe that Beauty Is Goodness than Goodness Is Beauty.
