This might be a very stupid question but I'll ask it anyway..

I read the thread listing the various GUNDAM series produced to date.

What I want to ask is that does the SEED/GSD Series have anything to do with the older Gundam series. And does Gundam 00 have anything to do with either. I am talking about characters and internal storyline and not the whole Gundam ideology which is obviously prevalent in all of them.
