That is what I would normally do if Akune and Kikaijima didn't react the way they did. They know Medaka likes everyone so her saying she likes Zenkichi shouldn't warrant that kind of response from them. Unless she was elevating him above the normal status she gives everyone.

I do not particularly care whether she likes Zenkichi more now or not, I just found the line potentially amusing.

Everyone thought that guy was done for the count so you really can't blame Zenkichi. What did you want him to do? Stay on guard and wait till that guy woke up? Beat him while he was down? Kill him? I really doubt Zenkichi's that type of guy.

Not one member of the 13 Party has stayed down after one hit. Unzen, Miyakonojou and Takachiho all weren't beaten just like that. Even if Munakata isn't the fighters they are, he is still among the most abnormal of abnormals.

Plus the guy fights dirty anyway. He tricked Medaka and tried to behead her and would have slashed Zenkichi if he grabbed that sword. Although Zenkichi did not know that. Playing possum is not above him if it turns out that is what he did.

I did not expect Zenkichi to beat him while he was down or kill him but he should have kept his guard up.
