OniAi 05 - The Disclaimer At the Start of This Book
:
Interesting trilogy of stories this time. The first is the council deciding what to call Akito (with Akiko barging in partway through, of course.) It all felt very SeiZon in its execution, but the second and third segments were the standout ones this time. The second features Kaoruko coming the same conclusion a lot of viewers in this thread did - that Akito's books are somehow indicative of a real-life attraction. He disproves this by reading the "This is a work of fiction" disclaimer. But not before putting up with a lot of flirting in an attempt to dissuade him. Then there's being trapped in a dark room with Arashi. A real tempest in a teacup, one could say. Being stuck with the only girl in the cast who has a sword is a dangerous prospect. As usual, the dialogue continues to be fairly clever, and Kawaguchi's comic timing makes the scenes feel like they flow by fairly smoothly and quickly, despite the decompressed nature of the episodes.
You can also tell Kawaguchi's at the helm because of the title of the next episode. It is in the nature of directors to refer back to their previous work.
