There's all sorts of examples all over the world... but most of the well known ones involve a man who is rich, powerful or successful. In this case, Kondou is none of those and nobody else finds him attractive.
At least he's not Akira's teacher or something. Although they are currently in a situation where Kondou is notionally in a position of power or responsibility, it's clear that Akira went to work at the restaurant because she already had feelings for him.
I feel somewhat sad for her classmate who also followed his love to this restaurant and Akira is equally clueless about his one-sided affection for her...
