Even if it's been just 10 episodes already I've taken an absolute liking to E7:AO, and I can only hope both the animation staff and the writer can keep up with the pace.
Now, the tenth episode has become another favorite of mine along with episode eight.
A very commendable praise this series does as well is at properly fleshing out the supporting adult characters, as this episode dealt with Chief's (Ivica) past, and how him learning from his sins contributed not only to the formation of Team Pied Piper but also shaping himself at becoming an irreplaceable bond for his whole team. That means, Chief don't ever do something reckless again, or you'll make Fleur, Elena, and Ao cry.
The use of symbolism introducing the literal meaning to Pied Piper is again manifested literally given that since only minors can only pilot IFO, what the adults at Generation Bleu do is mobilizing the children pilots to combat. However, this is as well subverted, because Ivica towards the end of the episode notes to Rebeca that the children at their charge are the ones after all who call for and move the adults.
Now, some drastic progression has been made about the Secret.
Spoiler:
I do recall an episode in the first Eureka Seven series when the Scub Coral manifested in a town to try to make contact with humans, although the result close encounter yielded a castastrophic aftermath.
The point is that one survivor girl was heavily traumatized upon what she saw the Scub Coral did, and man, when I saw the look on those frightened eyes of hers not only was creepy but triggered an expressive reaction from my part.
Same thing and same look happened to Ao when he saw upon close contact what the Secret did; the boy lying scared senseless and motionless before Chief slapped some sense on him to move again.
The incident is telling us that what the world and Generation Bleu presumed to have known about the Secret all along is either completely wrong or just a tiny speck of the whole truth or humanity simply knows nothing about the Secret.
1. We now know that the Secret identifies organisms by analyzing their shapes.
2. It deems humans as hostile organisms whether they attack it or not.
Now, I do know that in the first Eureka Seven series the Scub Coral were trying to make contact with humans.
In this series, it is presumed that the Secret go hunting for the Scub Coral, because they act as a sort of anti-body organisms that deem the whole of the Scub Coral as invading, foreign viruses.
This is just a theory, but what if the Secret are also trying to make contact with the Scub Coral, although not in any conventional way or forms that we can think of.
Truth cryptically states to humanity that the Secret is not what they imagine it to be.
Parting from that statement, another theory could be that the Secret along with the Scub Coral are not from this current universe (current world) but came from somewhere else. However, the Secret came to this universe far ealier before the Scub Coral did, and they are reasserting themselves to the Scub Coral as the dominant organisms in the current universe.
I have other countless theories, but I'll post them for another day.
