I'll expand on this: What are the tools typically used by folks 'round here to create their animated images from video files?
I've been capturing frames by the snapshot function in my video player, then cropping and timing by hand in Photoshop/ImageReady. If need be, I open it in the GIMP to do frame-by-frame optimization. Surely there is a better way!
