Aki never really sold me enough to call her 'best girl' and hung on the side with only childhood friend as an advantage. But she doesn't really seem to swing it around like she could, instead it just acts like some kind of titular reward she gets for knowing him longer. However, we're never really clued in as to what depth their relationship is.
Either way, it's nice to see Frau take the lead and start asserting herself and appearing more often in public and at school especially with the gang. Aki may very well get left behind if she doesn't do something to get herself further in Kai's mind, not just as a childhood friend, but as a girl, because I'm pretty sure Frau is going to carry away the victory at the current rate.
Not that I mind, I knew she was best girl from the first moment I saw her. This just solidified it and silenced so many haters and other people that might've not agreed (although considering opinions, I'm pretty sure their are still fanbases for the other heroines).
