You can just press A on their name and they'll say 'Checkmate'.
There are 26 in all, they are:
1. Bern
2. Lambda
3. Goats
4. Battler
5. Ange
6. Shannon
7. Kanon
8. Beato
9. Virgilia
10. Evatrice
11. Ronove
12. Luci
13. Levi
14. Satan
15. Belphe
16. Mammon
17. Beelze
18. Asmo
19. Siesta410
20. Siesta45
21. Siesta00
22. Sakutaro
23. Zepar
24. Furfur
25. Seakitty-1
26. Seakitty-2

The playable characters are unlocked by finishing arcade with that characters as the first member
and the extra ones are unlocked by clearing arcade with a character you already cleared it with (Except for Zepar and Furfur).
