As long as the NRA messaging gets overwhelmed by constant calls for gun safety, then things will definitely change. Until then, yes, it's the same old crap. So, that's all there is to that.
So, shoving the gun issue aside, there is actually an even bigger fight. The fight against unchecked
Corporatocracy. Unfortunately, issues like guns and abortion are tied into it, because the corporate need common people with garnished support via social issues. I'm sure many of us here are aware of this.
