I have to admit the ideas for this game actually sound somewhat promising including livening up the setting, being far removed from the mechanics of XIII and XIII-2 and even allowing the player full control of Lightening in combat. It seems like such a no brainer but allowing the player to be immersed in and like they are playing a role in JRPGs is their main appeal to me. No matter how big the story got in FFs I never felt like a bystander until 13 and its many ways from the top down of making it feel more like a simulation than an RPG. Of course this all means nothing till we actually play it and I'm hardly trusting of Square to not drop the ball somehow of late but this is sounding playable in all that the term entails.
