[Kaoru Chujo]

Maybe I'm beginning to rank this series as a masterpiece. Episode 11 was just the kind of anime I like, full of meaningful silence and deep but understated emotion.

Spoiler for ep11:

Sora telling Gouta to get married and have lots of kids but to think of her from time to time was done beautifully. To make a line like that work so well shows what Kobayashi can do. The whole anime up to then made it possible for those emotions to work, I think. The jump to tragedy last week and the sudden settling down this week could have been a lot more jarring than they actually were.

Director Kobayashi Osamu did the storyboard for this episode, which was directed by Arakawa Masatsugu (director of Time Stranger Kyoko, key animation on shows like Haibane Renmei, ARIA, Blood+, and Chevalier D'Eon).
