I can't get enough of clowns like you who think they should be put on a pedestal for fansubbing. If you keep believing for long enough that becoming a fansubber makes you a better person, it'll come true one day. I promise.
PS: In case you're wondering, I was a former fansubber. Retired in '03 or '04.
