Kanon being the ultimate culprit might solve a lot of situations yes, and especially if he's the "real Battler."
Spoiler
for
Episode 3 (Anime ep18) ending
:
At the end of Episode 3, witch declares in red that
Kanon is dead
. She might later say that since both Shannon and Kanon are strict work names, red truth will only work for the real names.
Shannon is dead, Kanon is dead.
Sure, but what if that only applies to a person who is
actually
named Shannon and Kanon?
It might be 2 random people who died, and are named Kanon and Shannon.
It's possible that the bending of red truth
in that way
might be something that we cannot grasp with our current knowledge.
This may tweak a lot of situations, especially Episode 3, when
Kanon as we know
is definitely alive, and he's the one that killed Nanjo.
