A second person connecting from a similar IP address can be dumped near the first person. This is twice as bad since I'm 99% certain that a netcafe culture existed back when ALO was written, so this sort of bug should have been run into REALLY often if it existed. TBH I actually consider this to be a greater asspull than the demi-incarnate-system "power of love" in anything prior to Alictization.

While I agree that it doesn't make much sense, I am very sure that the implication was supposed to be that it only happened because of Kirito's unique situation (importing corrupted data from SAO). So while the bug itself may be impossible, it's not an issue that would ever be experienced in normal play, even by people in net cafes. It's not like his location was reset every time he logged in or anything. It seems like it got confused by his corrupted character location and defaulted to the IP thing for some reason.
