Uhm, I would question this after seeing how Ai-kun slipped through the door and she yelled out that her slip is being stolen and after she dismantled the guard on Frontier. From marketing perspective she makes it is not a joke: sex sells.
About her slip is a joke but I really doubt that Sheryl does not know how to use her gender for her purposes.
