Yeah...she made some 3 serious attempts or so, but they were a complete failure...even so there were some hints that she is really skilled and strong - like neji saiying how she has a perfect aim and never misses, her brief "there's no such a thing as male or female in battle" speech, where she declares herself much stronger than Ino and Sakura, all the suspense btw attacks, ...so on.
