No idea. ...anime-wise that is.
(My overall game knowledge is practically zero.) Though I'd suppose even one with game knowledge, within the game would have to flat out state that they were one gender or the other. Unlike Mukuru in the anime, where one could say,
"I don't see any balls!"
"No, it's just that Mukuru is still just too young."
"Young, you say?:"
"Alright, then they just left them out because of anime viewing practices."
"Yeah,.. and I'll show you an anime with talking raccoon dogs with huge..."
