Interesting point, you're right about the whole development between Alto and Sheryl and still in the end, he's still torn on to which he wants to be with. In reality I believe he wants to be with one because of the infamous line "Because we're alone, we want to love someone." It's a difficult situation, I mean if I were in his shoes who would I really choose? even though I do prefer Ranka, I don't know what he as a character thinks so it's hard to say. Alto is really dense and I'm hoping he makes a decision sometime in the near future.
