Shana and Yuji arrived at school, with the day just like any other, Yuji rubbing his head from getting whacked by a tree branch there one too many times, and Shana critiquing him for being so weak. Nevertheless, the two of them walked into the room just in time for class to begin.
“Alright now everyone, before we get to business, we have a certain... matter to deal with. I'm sure you have all discussed it among yourselves and decided that Ogata would fit the part?”
Now naturally, as Yuji and Shana had skipped the class where whatever they were talking about was brought up to go on one of their escapades, which were completely exempt from anything suggesting a certain pairing, by the way, they were naturally confused. Trying to be subtle about it, Yuji attempted to send Ike a look that asked for an explanation, but all his efforts were duly nullified when Shana decided to be blunt about it.
“What are you talking about?” The teacher was more than displeased about this, as indicated by his response.
“Hmph! Someone explain it to her!”
Ogata, who was the one designated for whatever they were talking about, rose to the chance.
“It's about the new play we were going to do for the fundraiser! I get the lead role if you guys just agree to this!”
Now, Keisaku and Eita, who were away tending to Margery when this was discussed, came to two conclusions. One, that this might be a bad idea, considering how the last play had ended up, and two, that they should be the ones drilling for information, lest they face an angry Flame Haze. Sighing, the two of them answered the next obvious question.
“So, what's this role like?”
“It's awesome,” another girl began answering, “we're making her hair extra red! She'll have this super cool cape and have a sword, too!”
Kazumi, who had been at class that day and knew about this already, but couldn't help but comment, put in her ideas about this.
“Yep, that's pretty much it. I dunno about Ogata though, I think Shana here might be up for it a little bit more.”
The class murmured as such a proposition was raised up. As Shana had been away the day the class had planned this in the first place, none of them even considered the small girl for the part. More importantly, why Kazumi would bring up such a proposition in the first place was unknown. Of course, before they could advance any further, they had to know one thing, what did “Kazumi Yoshida” herself think of this?
“Wait, why me?” Shana asked this simple question, and everyone in the room was relieved that they wouldn't have to go through the trouble of explaining anything about the play itself to the girl. Of course, it was Yuji that pointed out why she had been suggested.
“Well, think about it, Shana. Red hair, badass cape, and sword, that's your department, really.” More murmurs emerged from the crowd as they slowly warmed up to the idea of their cold classmate being the one to take the starring role. Suddenly, everyone was staring at Shana, all expecting her to take the mantle of the lead from Ogata.
“Fine, I'll do it. Happy!?”
The next day, as Shana was being told about what she was expected to do, a deep blush came to her face, and she muttered one line. “Whoever gave them this idea WILL pay.”
Across town, Margery Daw smirked. She knew from what her two assistants had told her that the girl had successfully gotten the role. Now with everyone scurrying to keep the truth under wraps, she had much more time to be by herself and drink all day.
