I miss Haruhi

SOrry for the wait, i just got back from university;
Ok, i have to make myself clear: the romance is a must. There must be an undergoing relation, some kind of "love" tension, anything hinting a love interest and the kind.
Mirai nikki started as a "normal" story with some fantasy elements:
Spoiler for plot:
The protagonist was a student, the plot was initially settled at school, and there was a cute girl interested in the protagonist. Up to now, everything is fine. Then the guy discovers that his cellphone shows him the future, and he's happy and exalted, and it looks like the plot will evolve through some kind of time-travelling novel, with some action, some romance and an happy ending.
That was what i thought initially. However, the protagonist started being assaulted because there were other people with a future diary, but it's ok, at least there is some kind of plot, some action, etc. But when the protagonist is involved with the 6th, the anime starts turning dark: Yuno just looks like some crazy killer, with killer eyes, no emotions when saying the word "let's kill her ^O^ who cares, we can be happy ^O^ kill", and she starts killing anyone in that temple. When the protagonist discovers those dead bodies in Yuno's house, i definitely understood that she was screwed. That was the only time, in a "romance" story, where i would have been scared by a girl.
From that moment on, the story just became dark: killing sprees, cut throats like nothing, shot anyone, run like a crazy, mad eyes, and the obsession for Yuki just made Yuno the most interesting and crazy part of this story. The protagonist was truly a failure, but Yuno, even being fucking scary, surely was the sole reason i continued reading/watching the manga/anime. I didn't even like her, and if i were the protagonist, i would have tried to escape her or take her out. Neither one moment i did think that the protagonist loved Yuno.
Anyways, after Yuki got kidnapped by Yuno, and forced to a chair, near the skulls of Yuno's parents, i definitely thought "She's just screwed, someone call the psychiatric department, please". Just what the hell? I seriously thought she had some split personality. Anyways, i didn't really like much how the story evolved from then on: for some time, Yuno & Yuki disappeared, and it was told the story from the pov of the other characters, but then the two protagonists show up, determined to win that "game": there is some action etc, and the fight against the 11th really looked like "the last boss battle", and i really loved the action in there. That wasn't the last battle tho:
Yuki fully joined the dark side by relentlessly killing his friends, who were trying to let him know that Yuno was crazy, but Yuki already knew it deep inside. The story from then on was rather scary: they indeed became one, during one night, but then Yuno started trying to kill Yuki with an axe (scary as always, Yuno, eh?), and the pursuit began. Then you discover that Yuno already had won that game and was replaying the story once again, and you start understanding why she was so crazy, but that doesn't still justify her actions. The last part of the story was a bit confusing or perhaps too much fast paced: leaping from a timeline to another, destroying some world and repairing another(Yuki saving the 3rd world Yuno), but up to that moment i was still putting my hopes in an happy ending: if you manage to win the game, you become God, so everyone you killed and the other horrible deeds you did will get resetted, so who cares, but it wasn't really that way, and that's why the series was dark. There was a message within tho: men are able to do anything when they are prompted with unlimited power: you'll relentlessly kill anyone in your way to become god, be it your friends or your lover.
However, in the end Yuno kills herself because she "loves" Yuki, and the latter becomes God. Then you discover that that was a manga written by god Yuki, lol? and that after 10k years, Yuno breaks in god yuki's place? what the hell? That was rather confusing, but it looked like an happy ending, since Yuno didn't seem to have any killing intent, even tho i'd be scared by her even being a god, haha.
So, in the end, Mirai nikki had the romance in it, there were kisses and much more, but for the ones knowing the story, you understand that that kind of romance is screwed. What made me like it was the mindfuck within, but it was only that. I was put into a situation where i had started a romance, and i was happy, but then that "romance" turned dark, and i'd have better dropped it; however, i couldn't do the latter, because the story was too much mysterious and interesting, and i had to continue it.
So don't get me wrong when i say that this show entertained me: it was just because i took the "romance" bait and was thrown in this crazy story. I may have interest in this kind of fucked up things, but that isn't the main purpose of this topic. I'm mainly looking for stories having some romance in it.
If the anime is very good, then I can accept the kind of romance that can be found in Welcome to the NHK, but only if the anime is objectively good.
As i stated before, i really wanted to watch Death Note, and i actually have it on my computer, but i never really started it because, some time ago, when it finished airing, everyone was spreading the word about and already knowing the end just killed any little interest i had in it. I planned on watching it anyways, but i'm aware i won't get the full surprise effect when it comes to that, so it's really low on my list. I would pay someone to remove that memory from my mind.
Tonight i'll probably start Samurai girls. Always thanks for your suggestions, they are very appreciated.
