The last few DC comic adaptations aside from batman either bombed in the box office: Catwoman, Jonah Hex Superman Returns, Green Lantern did poorly. Watchmen did ok though.
Lets hope that the man of steel and JL movies will be decent

The times have changed. The movies that you mentioned were all from the late 70's or 80's and the audience these days are different than the people from 30 years ago.
