Hmm, I don't really remember about the previous Demon King, but if I remember it correctly, Evila (Demon race) went through moment of peace with Humas (Human race), however, Evila betrayed them and the war continued. The Demon King is then killed, and the new Demon King rise to the new throne. This New Demon King wanted peace, but Humas did not believe it, and just ignoring the proposal of peace they sent.
