I must say, Vice Admiral Ronse was a big idiot for trying to attack Whitebeard head on like that. He tried to attack him while his guard was down, so then why the hell would he yell out "Caught you off guard, Whitebeard...!!!"? The whole point of hitting someone by surprise is to not get noticed, otherwise they'll have enough time to react and counter attack just like Whitebeard did this chapter. That being said, Ronse deserved his utter defeat.

As for the vice admirals in general, besides Tsuru and Garp, I'm really not impressed by the others so far. They haven't done anything noteworthy and are quite frankly being depicted as weak. It's quite sad to see the ones fight so far being reduced to cannon fodder. These guys are one rank below admiral, so I would expect that they would be competent fighters. Let's hope that the buster call vice admirals, John Giant, and Komir, can redeem the title of vice admiral after the poor performance we've seen from those who have fought so far.
