And Haibane Renmei is one of the most meaningful anime I've ever watched. It's basically up to your own interpretations though, and for me:

Spoiler for things you wouldn't understand if you haven't watched it anyways:

The town of Glie represents purgatory (for the lack of a better word) and that the Haibane and Sin-bound Haibane are "consequences" (or results) of their actions in their previous life. And also, the Day of Flight is the day where they understood their dream and are ready to move on. Of course, there is no way to take this series literally and expect to like it.

In a sense, this series is like Air and 5 Centimeters per Second but in my opinion, most confusing out of the three.
