Even though he despises the type the most, I think it would do Hachi good if he became friends with the popular guy. He seems genuinely a good person, and think he would make a good anchor for Hachi. He needs a true male friend instead of just an annoying guy and a guy who he confuses as a girl.
At first though Saki was gonna be the girl that left the sweets.
During the meeting in the beginning, Hachi's sister got a weird look when seeing Yui, at first thought she was looking at her big chest, but its because they already met, so she thought it was weird repeating it like that.

From Hachi point of view:
Nice to everyone =/= true friends
since A is nice to b, c, d, e, f...etc
so b same as f for A
And as we see from eps1/2 he didn't just try once and get trauma that stop him from trusting anyone.
He try > failed > try again> failed again...etc
