Really? But since his sword was given to him by the king? (not entirely sure) he shudn't have surrendered it to tigre like that?

Spoiler for LN: from what i gathered roland could've still kept fighting but he himself admit he lost "mentally" to tigre his armor was destroyed but his sword was still fine
