I don't know, maybe it doesn't mean anything like you said but still... The real Aleister Crowley used to wear the inverted pentagram as a personal symbol, the fact that now it has been reversed back might have a meaning.

... There was another famous occultist related to Crowler by the name of Eliphas Levi, who made a lot of use of the up oriented pentagram (related according to Crowley anyway.) If that guy gets mentioned in these novels then I'll say for sure that such detail is relevant... Then again, the chances of that happening are probably not good.
