At 10m 3s of Episode 2, Yuji said: "I can now go see her without to worry about any interference. "

At 10m 13s, he added: "... what could block my way is the Flame of Heaven."

Based on what he said, Yuji wants to meet Shana once again, and that is why he returns back to Misaki City as the normal Yuji.
