Spoiler for Ep3:
The show just keeps kicking Masaru. Was his grandfather also evil? He did put Shirogane into position to protect Masaru...but even that might have simply been another level of manipulation to ensure the puppet factions annihilated each other. On some level I'd like to think he understood how screwed up his own family was and tried to protect his innocent grandchild from it.
Did lead to a desperate bit of growth for Masaru. Oh sure he'd most definitely have died even if he did 'land on someone'. But hey, he's not the only one surviving insane falls . A brutal revelation that seems likely his father set this up to wipe out the puppet factions. Although in that case...are we sure he's even dead? I'm more worried now about the circumstances surrounding the death of Masaru's mother.
At this point Narumi might actually have the most normal background of the main cast. Shirogane being trained to be an emotionless tool from her earliest memory. I'd presume her encounter with the 4 year old Masaru explains why she's so much more human with him and cold around everyone else.
Good moments in the episode overall. Narumi gets to kick some guys around and grow closer to Shirogane. Here's hoping Masaru's gamble pays off. Certainly he has juicy info for the killing faction and if he's really inherited that fortune he can pay more than the people wanting him dead.
