That would make the character more like supporting than main. (When I watch dramas and this happens, I start to wonder what is the main dish and what is the side dish.) But that is only because I'm getting a little bored with the death gimmicks and sadistic torturing on main boy Subaru. I realized the great world building outside of the loops I wanted to see isn't all that great after all.
