Hard-to-understand? Hmm... really? Or is it the language barrier (no slight intended)? I thought that the exposition was really easy to follow.

Spoiler:

Laid-back male lead, but very much into his girlfriend Yuki. Worried that with her entry in the idol business she's fading away from him. Family problems, financial problems, but a couple of good friends, and obviously a selection of other girls interested in him.

Yuki seems like a kind and happy girl, but with some wits and spine. She was able to weather the bullying and found a proper solution. She's also trying to keep in touch, but - partially also due to poor communication from Touya - she obviously doesn't notice his growing unease.

Rina - strong-willed power girl and growing star, _deliciously_ friendly with Yuki. This is going to make things all the more tense once the likely drama starts. Triangles are so much more interesting when the competing girls are close to begin with.

As for the rest, groundwork for several more support characters, along with some extra relationship definition between these characters.

It wasn't in any way "big" or "awesome", but good drama shows gradually build, they don't go for early effects. Take "True Tears" for example, a very successful show in whose direction White Album will probably drift (or maybe a bit of KimiNozo? One can dream): How long did it take for anything to actually _happen_?

In any case - even if I wasn't working on this show, I can say that I very much like the atmosphere already. It definitely isn't something for the happy mainstream anime viewer, but methinks that we might be treated to some delicious angsty drama
