They did that with SRW R I believe. If anything they'll have prologue stages for Total Eclipse that will showcase the threat of the BETA and play out the squad event. Or do what they did with VOTOMS in Z2.1 where they had Chirico have a "Flashback" stage(Or stages) which also yielded him a secret. Instead of Chirico it'll be Yui reliving that event and Japan suffering a huge defeat against the BETA with countless lost.

Since those events happen in the past they woudn't get in the way of other series that use Japan.
