Apologies for nit-picking, but St. Andrew's day has been a '
semi-public holiday' since
2007. Employers can choose whether to:
- Allow their staff to have the day off,
- Allow them the day off but remove a day from their total number of days off per year, or
- Not have the day off at all.
St. Patrick's day is a public holiday in
Northern Ireland.
