I'm quite sure that there were elements in the previous Episode that were cut, such as Jessica's asthma and the relationships between some characters. You're right, though, since nothing overly major was actually left out during the previous episodes and cleared up in this one.
Anyway, I'm quite surprised that Beatrice regarded Kinzo so mockingly instead of like in the first letter where she referred to him as "Kinzo-sama". This makes me pity Kinzo even more...
